Did you know that when Spring Brook first opened, homes and businesses still used iceboxes instead of refrigeration?
In order to keep food and supplies cold, Spring Brook would deliver ice harvested from surrounding ponds to the homes and businesses of New Britain to store in their iceboxes. Things are very different today, and while we no longer source our ice from local ponds, the homes and businesses in Greater Hartford County still rely on Spring Brook Ice & Fuel for ice services.
