In 2025, homeowners can receive federal tax credits for installing energy-efficient heat pumps, furnaces, and boilers, among other upgrades that we here at Spring Brook Ice & Fuel can install in your Central Connecticut home. These tax credits are only available for equipment installed before December 31, 2025. If you are upgrading your oil-fired equipment, you can earn an additional rebate up to $1,000!

These tax credits are available through two limited-time programs, the Energy Efficiency Home Improvement Credit and the Upgrade and Save Connecticut Rebate Program.

Energy Efficiency Home Improvement Credit

To help combat inflation, the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 Tax Section 25C, Nonbusiness Energy Property Credit, provides a tax credit to homeowners equal to 30% of installation costs for the highest efficiency tier products. The credit is generally limited to $1,200 for each taxpayer for any taxable year, with the exception of a $2,000 limit for qualified heat pumps.  To qualify, the system must be ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient certified, installed in a primary residence, and homeowners must obtain a Product Identification Number (PIN) for tax filing.

Split Ducted or Packaged Heat Pump                 Up to $2,000 Tax Credit

Split or Packaged Air Conditioner                         Up to $600 Tax Credit

Gas-Fired or Forced Hot Air Furnace                   Up to $600 Tax Credit

This credit is available for equipment installed before December 31, 2025.
