Ernest Groth Memorial Scholarship
Meet this year's winners of Spring Brook's annual Ernest Groth Memorial Scholarship!
Each year, our company recognizes four graduating students from New Britain, Newington, Plainville, and Berlin who are pursuing a business degree. Each honoree receives a $1,000 scholarship in memory of our former owner, Ernest Groth. We are proud to introduce you to this year’s deserving recipients.
Austin Boninsegna is a student at Berlin High School and a 2025 Ernest Groth Memorial Scholarship awardee.
Christian Marfia is a student at Plainville High School and a 2025 Ernest Groth Memorial Scholarship awardee.
Daren Ngo is a student at Newington High School and a 2025 Ernest Groth Memorial Scholarship awardee. We appreciate his thoughtful thank-you note.

Congratulations on your graduation, Spring Brook employee Anthony Cordero!
We are so proud of our employee, Anthony Cordero, who graduated from New Britain High School on Friday, June 13, 2025. Anthony interned with our office last summer through the OIC of New Britain. He continued to work Saturdays throughout the school year, assisting in the office and with retail customers, and has committed to assisting on the ice delivery truck for the summer. Anthony hopes to enroll in the ENTECH school to pursue a career as an HVAC technician. It looks like he has been inspired by his time at Spring Brook! We congratulate him on his high school graduation!

Registration is open for the summer season. The season runs from mid-June through August.
The Cromwell Little League provides a healthy environment for the boys and girls of our community, encouraging participation, developing character and discipline, promoting teamwork, and advocating citizenship and community pride. The attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary, and the molding of future adult citizens is of prime importance.

Canes Baseball Association First Pitch Season Kick-off Social

Spring Brook Ice & Fuel is excited to step up to the plate and support a fantastic cause at the 2nd Annual First Pitch Season Kick-off Social for the Canes Baseball Association Booster Club!
We're thrilled to support this home run community event by donating a 100-gallon fuel oil gift certificate (Value $399.90) to be raffled off. It's our way of giving back to the families and young athletes who make our community so special. Thanks to all involved, and let's go Canes!

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, Spring Brook Ice & Fuel was a proud sponsor of the 10th annual New Britain TubaChristmas concert! Held at the historic Trinity on Main, the holiday concert consisted of a festive line-up of traditional Christmas music played by many talented young musicians. As a company deeply rooted in our community, Spring Brook is always excited to support our local New Britain friends and neighbors!

The scholarship program was established in memory of our former owner, Ernest Groth, and is awarded to graduating students pursuing a business degree.
