In the newest episode of CEMA’s “Mission Possible” podcast, recorded live at the Southern New England Energy Conference, Spring Brook Ice & Fuel joined host Shelly Sindland to discuss the evolving energy landscape. In this episode, Greg Stafstrom, President of Spring Brook, and his son Jack, Dispatch Manager, with over 50 years of combined industry knowledge, shared their views on the home heating industry's evolution and the exciting future they envision.

The goal of the podcast episode was to shed light on and help educate people about renewable fuels and what exactly goes in their heating oil tanks. As Greg put it, “The product we deliver today is not the same product our parents or grandparents delivered.” In the case of Spring Brook, the heating oil delivered is a blend of renewable biodiesel and ultra-low sulfur heating oil called Bioheat® fuel. With virtually zero sulfur content, Bioheat® fuel doesn’t require any major alterations to existing oil-fired heating equipment and can provide the same consistent comfort as traditional heating oil, with fewer greenhouse gas emissions.

Jack, who was raised riding in heating oil trucks during blizzards and helping pull the hose to the fill pipe, stated, “Education is the biggest component to this. We need to keep telling that story, because it's our future.”

In the face of a rapidly changing energy industry, Spring Brook’s dedication to innovation, education, and community remains unwavering. The future of renewable fuels is bright, and Spring Brook Ice & Fuel is ready to help lead the way!
