Let’s face it, heating emergencies happen. There's never a good time, but they seem to occur at the most inconvenient times, like running out of heating oil when your in-laws are over or an equipment issue when you are hosting a football party. Nobody knows when a heating emergency will strike, but you can rest assured that you know the people who can fix it, when you call Spring Brook Ice & Fuel for emergency service!
A heating emergency can be a stressful event, but before you start panicking, relax and take a deep breath; it may be an issue you can remedy on your own! Before you pick up the phone to dial our number, go through this check list to try and get your heat back on.
- Check the emergency switch is “On”
- Locate the fuse box or circuit panel to make sure nothing has tripped
- Make sure you have oil in your tank
- Set your thermostat 5 to 10 degrees above room temperature.
- Replace batteries if the thermostat is electronic
- (For oil-fueled systems) press the red reset button on the safety control – ONE TIME ONLY
