Image this: It’s the middle of the night on one of the coldest days of the year. You wake up with cold fingers and toes. Igloos are probably warmer than this, you tell yourself. You check the radiators – no heat. You check your heating system – yup, it has conked out. You’re about to say a few choice words we can’t repeat here and then you remember: Spring Brook Ice & Fuel has 24/7/365 emergency heating repair and fuel delivery – including holidays and weekends!
What constitutes a heating system emergency?
- No heat
- No hot water
- Out of oil
- Smoke or soot from equipment
Try tackling the issue yourself first before you call us!
If your heat goes out, run through these steps first – you may be able to get your system running without an emergency service call.
- Check the emergency switch is "On"
- Check the fuse box or circuit panel to make sure nothing has tripped
- Check to see if you have oil in your tank
- Set your thermostat 5-10 degrees above room temperature
- If you have an electronic thermostat, replace the batteries
- For oil-fueled systems, press the RED reset button on the safety control (on the unit) -- ONE time only.
